As a content designer, also known as user experience (UX) writer, I work to understand your audience from the very beginning. By doing so, I write content for services that aim to work for everyone.

Challenge: One department required interface content for a new GOV.UK service. The work I provided included interface content, error messages, privacy, cookies, and terms and conditions content.

What was achieved:

carried out a review of guidance content, led usability testing sessions and led pair writing sessions
used search data to determine terms to be used in content
created content maps to improve user journeys and ensured accessibility for users

Contract assignment

Challenge: Client sought to improve functionality, navigation and content on the Croydon Local Offer website.

What was achieved:

interviewed young people with a range of special needs, parents of disabled children and service providers
reviewed the user journey, carried out an audit on guidance content and created wireframes
improved the site navigation, led a keyword search session with parents and improved return results in search
improved accessibility for users with visual and hearing impairments
helped improve communication between service stakeholders

Pro bono (via Cranfield Trust as content design consultant)

Challenge: Redevelop Hoxton Health's website and drive more users to the organisation.

What was achieved:

led sessions with service users and staff to understand their needs
carried out a content strategy session to look at how to engage current service users and encourage new audiences
supported and advised on the redevelopment of the new website.

Contract assignment

Challenge: Client required interface content and guidance content, including error messages.

What was achieved:

carried out a content audit, led pair writing sessions and sketched content wireframes
created content maps, produced accessibility guidelines and conducted user testing sessions and keyword search analysis
identified and improved user journeys through usability testing

Challenge: Client sought to increase visual presence in the Third Sector.

What was achieved:

carried out content reviews on website and e-newsletter
produced a content strategy and style guide
used data insights from user research to improve the user experience
wrote content that met the needs of the audience

Challenge: Client wanted to improve user engagement on their news platform and interface to increase the number of donors.

What was achieved:

conducted a content audit of platform pages
reviewed page engagement and identified content improvements
carried out user questionnaires to identify user needs
ran monthly reviews on content and engagement for ongoing improvements
tested donor interface with stakeholders
wrote content that met the needs of service users
